Covid-19 Antibody Testing

Antibody testing is recommended once a person has fully recovered from COVID-19 symptoms, typically after 14 days. It's crucial for understanding whether someone has developed immunity to the virus, although the duration of immunity remains under study. Accurate antibody testing is also vital for those who wish to donate convalescent plasma to help treat severely ill patients.

How Does the Antibody Test Work?

Our antibody test involves a simple blood sample collection, either through a finger prick or a vein draw, depending on the method used. This test detects both the SARS-CoV-2 virus (which causes COVID-19) and the antibodies - proteins your body uses to fight off the virus. It specifically looks for two types of antibodies: IgM, which occurs early in the infection, and IgG, which appears later and persists longer in the bloodstream.

COVID-19 Rapid Antibody Detection Test: This test provides results in just 10 minutes with a single drop of blood, indicating past infection and antibody development.

COVID-19 Traditional Antibody Test: Results from this test, which also indicate past infection and antibody development, are available within 1-5 days, depending on laboratory capacity.
